General overview
Situated in North East Africa Egypt borders Libya to the west, Sudan to the south, Israel and Jordan to the north-east. Its north coast is on the Mediterranean Sea, while the Red Sea bounds the eastern coast.
Egypt has hot and dry summer, mild winter rainfall increasing nearer the coastlines. The average temperatures are on average between 22-37 degrees Centigrade in the summer and 9-19 degrees Centigrade in the winter.
The main resorts are along the Red Sea coast. Hurghada is the getaway to a magical underwater world of colourful fish and coral that draws divers from around the world, while other adventurous travellers head inland.
Why invest in Egypt?
Egypt is one of the few countries where demand outweighs supply. According to www.propertyshowrooms.com more and more foreign property investors are choosing to enter the Egyptian market. According to the experts, the African country is proving to be very popular because it offers relatively low house prices. Lucrative residences in areas such as the Red Sea cost far less than comparable houses in Europe, with some selling for less than £35,000.
Egypt is also praised for offering a favourable tax regime, as property owners are not obliged to pay stamp duty and capital gains tax. As a result, Egypt is becoming increasingly popular with property buyers who wish to invest overseas.
Red Sea area has seen prices increase by over 25 per cent. Add to that the fact that tourism continues to grow, and with a year-round climate the rental potential is fantastic.
